Alan Caperton aka Rick Alan West, 

 Alan was born July 7, 1951, in Wichita, Kan, His family moved to Tulsa when he was 2.  He graduated from Rogers High School in 1968 and then for two years attended Oklahoma State University, where he majored in broadcasting.

 

 Alan Caperton, whose on-air name is a play on the word "request" with his real first name squeezed in, began his three-decade-long radio career at OSU's rock station, KVRO, in the early 1970s.

 He worked as a DJ for stations in Arkansas and Texas before settling in Tulsa in 1979. He lent his friendly voice to morning shows and other programming on country station KVOO, pop station KRAV and oldies station KQLL, among many others.  For the last 13 years, Caperton was a production manager and on-air personality for Clear Channel Communications in Tulsa.  "Being on the radio, playing the music you like in your own hometown -- that's what it's all about," he told the Tulsa World in 1995.

Born in Wichita, Kansas, Rader graduated from Rogers High School in Tulsa, where he was a football and baseball standout. He played at Tulsa and was the Golden Hurricane starting quarterback in 1977 and 1978. He threw for 2,674 career yards and guided Tulsa to a 9-2 record in 1978, passing for 1,683 yards and 14 touchdowns. He was drafted in the eleventh round of the NFL draft by the San Diego Chargers but was later picked-up by the Giants. Rader was head coach at Tulsa from 1988-99 where he posted a 49-80-1 mark in 12 seasons. He guided the Golden Hurricane to the Independence Bowl in 1989 and the Freedom Bowl in 1991. His 1991 team was ranked 21st nationally and he was selected as Region 4 Coach of the Year and was a finalist for National Coach of the Year. While head coach at Tulsa, he produced four All-Americans, three first-team Academic All-Americans and 11 NFL draft picks. Dave Rader, the Tide quarterback coach from 1983-85 while current head coach Mike Shula was an Alabama quarterback, is entering his second season in his current stint as the Crimson Tide’s offensive coordinator and quarterback coach.
